“Hop On / Hop Off” Bus Tour

Explore Dublin City with iconic red buses. Enjoy the open top “Hop On / Hop Off” bus tour of Dublin and stop at all of Dublin city’s great attractions.

This fun and friendly 90-minute tour departs every 8 to 20 minutes throughout the day and stops along the primary tour route include Trinity College, Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Kilmainham Gaol, the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Zoo and the Old Jameson Distillery. There is multilingual commentary in 8 languages: English, Gaelic, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese & Russian and live guides on buses. Two children go free with every adult ticket. Ticket is valid for 48 hours from validation.

Each tour departs from 14 Upper O’Connell Street (Stop 1). First tour departs at 9.00am. There are a number of public buses from the University campus to O’Connell Street. Tour tickets can be purchased through the online registration form.

Dublin Botanical Gardens

The National Botanic Gardens are an oasis of calm and beauty. A premier scientific institution, the gardens also contain the National Herbarium and several historic wrought iron glasshouses. Within the living collections at the National Botanic Gardens there are over 300 endangered species from around the world and 6 species already extinct in the wild. Staff at the Gardens are actively describing new species, increasing their knowledge of the Irish flora, conducting collecting expeditions and investigating the needs of our most threatened native species. The National Herbarium is based within the National Botanic Gardens and has a collection of nearly ¾ million dried plant specimens, there is also an active DNA research lab. By holding a wide range of named and labelled collections and keeping an up-to-date catalogue of the collections, the collection provides a unique reference source for Irish Gardeners, Horticulturists and Botanists.

Dublin has so many great places to see, all with their own fascinating stories and history. Please note this tour is a walking tour so please wear appropriate footwear and ensure to have a rain mac or umbrella. The tour includes a one-way transfer into the city centre. Guest are invited to remain in the city centre after the tour concludes.

Glaciation and Palaeoecology of the Wicklow Mountains

This trip will comprise of a half day coach trip of the Wicklow Mountains with a range of stops that will address the glaciation and palaeoecology of the Wicklow Mountains. The stops will include corries (cirques), glacial valleys, moraines and blanket bog. The trip will take in the breath taking scenery of the Wicklow Mountains and consider the palaeoecological context for the modern challenges of landscape management. The whole trip is covered on the Irish Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 map 56. Please note while there is limited walking on this tour, please wear appropriate footwear and ensure to have a rain mac or umbrella.
